From start to finish, I can honestly say that my experience with Kieren Darcy was handled in a totally professional and transparent way. I felt relaxed and under no pressure from the initial consultation and this allowed me time to make my clear and correct decision. His practice at the Clifton Nuffield site, has the latest machinery, which measures and checks every aspect of your Eye and this was very reassuring, as I had a very negative experience with a large multi UK Company a few years ago. On the day of the procedure, all of the staff from Ward nurse to theatre staff made you feel very welcome in a competent way making you relaxed and not having to worry. During the short procedure Kieran explained what is happening (not too much or too little) and this was very reassuring. Post Op experience also good, as I needed a question answered and this came back promptly. Hope this helps if you are thinking of having this procedure.

I was an optometrist for nearly 40 years and in that time sent many patients off to have cataract surgery, I then followed them up post operatively and saw the results both good and bad, so I was a little apprehensive when it came to my turn for the operation. I chose to go privately so I would have more time to discuss the many lens replacement options that are now available. Kieren was great, calm and knowledgeable, and the pre op assessment was very thorough and the equipment and measurements taken blew me away. We decided on a trifocal implant so I would not be reliant on specs afterwards, and Kieren suggested an additional procedure to help me get the best out of the operation which I hadn’t realised was an option. The operation itself was very professionally managed and today was my discharge day. I am pleased to say I have virtually no distance error and can read the smallest print so I am very impressed and pleased. If I was still in practice I would have no hesitation in recommending the Vision Care Clinic team to my patients and indeed when my other eye needs sorting “I’ll be back”.

I had lens replacement surgery in both eyes by Sid Liyanage in 2021. My eyesight is now better than it has ever been and for the first time since childhood I do not require specs or contacts for distance vision and can judge distances and angles much better when driving and doing sports. Sid’s medical care and surgical skills are both excellent. He is very approachable and explains medical details and treatment options very clearly to his patients giving them plenty of time to ask questions.

Sid has recently performed very successful cataract surgery on my right eye. I had been apprehensive as I have limited vision in my left eye but he was very understanding and explained possible risks and benefits clearly and unhurriedly. Post-operative contacts and appointments have also been excellent. I am very grateful for such a good outcome and can now drive confidently again!
